MiTek® Truss Products

All of the following MiTek products are available and ready for shipment along with your next truss order. The Eliminator web bracing, as well as the Peak Performer and BEH hinge plates are installed on your trusses, straight from our manufacturing facilities.

Eliminator™ Web Bracing

Speed up roof framing and eliminate bracing callbacks with the MiTek Eliminator web brace, the factory installed, engineered replacement for "T" bracing. It is the easy way to speed up roof framing and eliminate field applied compression bracing.

Eliminator web bracing goes on before a structure goes up, reducing web-bracing problems before they happen. Gone are the hassles of crawling through trusses and improper bracing installation. It can help reduce labor costs and give you a better roof system, one that building inspectors will recognize and approve more easily.

Imagine a bracing product with the following features:
  • Assured "T" bracing installation
  • Reduction of callbacks
  • Elimination of onsite hassles
  • Improved job safety
  • Reduction in labor costs
  • A better built roof system
  • Increased loyalty

Peak Performer™ & BEH Hinge Plates

Image of MiTek Peak Performer & BEH Hinge PlateAre you looking for an alternative to the hassles of a piggyback truss? Are you tired of setting cap trusses? MiTek's hinge plates are the perfect solution for both the component manufacturer and the framer. As a component manufacturer you only have one truss to build, and as a framer you only have one truss to set. Trusses built with MiTek hinge plates are the simple, engineered alternative to piggyback trusses.

The BEH and the Peak Performer hinge plates work in tandem to rid you of your piggyback problems. The BEH hinge plate attaches to the top chord, allowing truss sections to fold flat for shipping and handling, while staying completely aligned and in plane. The Peak Performer hinge plate offers even greater jobsite efficiency. It folds to match the truss pitch, where it attaches to both faces of the peak using #10 hanger nails hammered through the pre-punched holes in the plate. The nail pattern is offset, providing a strong and secure connection. Installation is made easy because you have no loose parts, no extra trusses to build or handle, and no worries about oversized loads on high-pitched trusses.

MiTek's hinge plates are manufactured from 18-gauge ASTM A-653 galvanized steel that is zinc coated. The overall dimensions of the plate are 2.25" x 8.375" and each end of the BEH hinge plate contains 48 teeth. The Peak Performer has 5 nail holes at one end and 48 teeth at the other end of the plate.

The Stabilizer® Truss Bracing

The Stabilizer truss brace and spacer provide truss installers with the best of both worlds; that is, accurate 24" o.c. truss spacing with ample structural properties for both construction bracing and permanent lateral bracing. Image of MiTek Stabilizer Truss BraceIt is the first truss spacer to provide both temporary construction bracing, as well as permanent lateral bracing. The Stabilizer is truly a breakthrough product. Its unique design means truss setting will never be faster, or easier. Just attach the Stabilizer to the top chord of an installed truss, bring up the next truss, and hammer down the top and side tabs. It is simple, requiring neither nails, nor cutting and handling spacer blocks or "layout sticks." Imagine not having to fumble for nails while hanging 30 feet in the air. And, since the Stablizer is in-plane, you just deck right over the top of it. In addition, the unique structural quality of the Stabilizer allows it to be used as permanent lateral bracing. The Stabilizer is so quick to install, you can brace webs as you set trusses, eliminating the need to return later to install lateral bracing.

The Stabilizer truss brace also provides temporary construction bracing in the roof and ceiling planes, as well as permanent lateral bracing for webs as specified by your truss engineering. The Stabilizer is easily installed by embedding the patented MII 20 teeth on the top flap, straight into the edge of the truss member to be braced with a framing hammer. The side tabs are then secured by driving the teeth into the face of the truss member being braced.

  • Use the Stabilizer for standard 24" o.c.spacing. For odd spacing, cut and insert a solid block between the trusses.
  • Typically, the Stabilizer is installed at 6'-8' centers along the roof plane and 10'-15' along the ceiling plane. Refer to engineering specification HIB-91, or DSB-89 (published by The Truss Plate Institute) or MiTek 20/20 "Perfect Vision Software"® design software for specific bracing requirement.
  • The Stabilizer® must be supplemented with diagonal bracing in the roof and ceiling planes and cross bracing in the web plane at required intervals.
