Columns have been found in almost every style of architecture throughout history. Serving as a structural support for large overhangs and porches, today's columns serve mainly decorative purposes, adding a strong visual element to your home. Most often used in conjunction with stone or masonry foundations, all Millwork Solutions columns are strictly decorative and are constructed as a hollow unit to be used to hide or decorate load-bearing supports.
Although we can combine trim and mouldings to create virtually any styling you wish, we have two basic styles or types: square and tapered.
All custom columns are constructed of smooth or rough plywood, which is nailed and screwed. They come standard with a 4" cap, 6" base, and 3" outside mitered trim corners. Columns are delivered with one side removed for easy installation around structural supports.
Production time for Millwork Solutions columns is typically 2-4 weeks depending on the size of the order and complexity of the design.
